We love Fritillaria, in fact we might be a little obsessed with them (along with Trilliums), but that's OK, we think all gardeners are a little that way with some plants. Now we know that they are not in flower right now, however it is a good time to look for some of the more interesting species and cultivars. Many are fairly rare and difficult to find. We have photographs and details of around 12 species that we grow at present. With a few more on the way. We grow them from seed, and this takes up to 5 years to get them to flower, however bulbs are available. So check out our main Fritillaria Page for the nurseries who stock them, and maybe have a look at some of the species we grow. Our favorite ? at the moment F.conica a lovely little yellow flowering species. And pictured left is F.pinardii.
